Estreya Cohen
MA
Families working with Estreya tend to feel comfortable and heard from the very first conversation. She creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere that puts children and parents at ease, so that even an unfamiliar process starts to feel manageable. Most families leave feeling they have someone genuinely in their corner.
I love baking for friends and family, especially birthday cakes.
You don't have to have it figured out.
How Estreya works
Estreya believes children know more about themselves than they are often given credit for. Every child has the potential to reach their goals. They just need the right tools, and someone willing to notice what makes them capable, not only what makes things hard.
Much of her work centres on psychoeducational assessment, in both English and French. Her aim is to fully understand each child, their strengths as much as the areas where they are working to grow, and to give families a clearer picture of who their child is, along with practical recommendations to help them reach their full potential and find support when they need it.
When she is with a child and family, she is getting to know who they really are, all the things that make them unique and the challenges they are hoping to overcome. She works to create a space where everyone feels they can be themselves and be met with respect, compassion, and hope.
Estreya takes the time to understand the whole child, their strengths, their challenges, and everything that makes them who they are. Families leave with more clarity about their child and clear, practical steps for what comes next.
Clinical approach
Thorough, bilingual, and always strength-focused.
Estreya focuses on psychoeducational assessment in English and French. Her approach is to understand each child fully, both their areas of strength and the places where they are working to grow. From there, she gives families more information about their child and clear recommendations to help them reach their full potential and find support when needed.
For bilingual and French-language learners, that dual-language lens matters. Being assessed in the language a child thinks and learns in gives a truer picture of how they are doing, and that picture is what everything else is built on.
A child is so much more than their struggles. Every child deserves to feel empowered by the things that make them wonderful.
