Dr. Rachael Lyon

PhD, C.Psych

Clinical, Health and Neuropsychologist

Most families arrive at psychology at a moment when something feels too big to carry. Maybe it's a new diagnosis. Maybe it's a child who's struggling and no one seems to understand why. Wherever you're coming from, Dr. Lyon is glad you're here.

I lived in Melbourne long enough to develop coffee opinions I have never quite recovered from. Toronto is trying its best.

You don't have to have it figured out.

How Dr. Rachael works

What to expect

Sessions with Dr. Lyon are calm and grounding, but also warm and sometimes a little bit silly when it fits. She pays close attention to what's showing up in the moment, what's getting in the way, and where there might be a little more room than your child expected.

Dr. Lyon works with children, adolescents, and families navigating fears, challenges, and difficult experiences. She creates space built on safety, collaboration, and genuine hope, where young people feel accepted, supported, and ready to grow.

As a Health Psychologist, she supports children and families managing medical diagnoses and treatment, hospitalizations, procedural anxiety, chronic pain, and adjustment to illness. She also consults with medical teams and school staff, working to make sure every child and family feels well understood and well cared for.

Her assessment work spans psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, helping families understand how their child thinks, learns, processes, and navigates the world, and what that means for support at home and school.

What to expect

Your first visit. What it looks like.

Have a seat when you arrive and your clinician will come find you. There is coffee and snacks waiting. If your child has never been to a therapy appointment before, that is okay. We are used to starting there. If you have questions before you come, reach out by phone or email. We are happy to help.
