What Makes us Different
-
Our training is grounded in current research and guided by real clinical experience. We focus on practical tools and strategies that clinicians can apply immediately in their day-to-day work with children and teens
-
Every program reflects the ways mental health, physical health, and development intersect. We help clinicians build a clearer understanding of whole-child care and support presentations where emotions and physical symptoms are closely connected.
-
Our workshops and seminars are created and delivered by clinicians who actively support children, teens, and families. Their lived clinical experience ensures that learning is relevant, realistic, and attuned to the challenges providers face in practice.
-
We offer online workshops, seminars, and small-group consultations designed to fit the schedules of busy professionals. Whether you are new to this work or deepening existing skills, you can engage in learning that meets you where you are.
-
We strive to create spaces where clinicians feel encouraged and understood. Our approach emphasizes connection, reflection, and the sense of community that helps providers learn, grow, and feel supported in their work.
-
Our programs are built for mental health clinicians, medical professionals, school-based teams, allied health providers, and early-career learners. If you support children or teens in any setting, the Learning Hub is designed with you in mind
Our Story
The Learning Hub grew out of the work we do every day at Whole Kids Health and from the vision of our Clinic Director, Dr. Stella Dentakos.
Early in her career in hospital settings, Dr. Stella noticed something important: families needed support that connected mental and physical health, yet very few pediatric health psychologists were available outside hospitals to offer this care in the community.
Motivated by this gap, she founded Whole Kids Health with a clear purpose. She wanted to bring pediatric health psychology into the neighbourhoods, schools, and communities where children and teens live, learn, and grow.
As the clinic expanded, more children were referred with concerns that blended mental and physical needs, confirming how valuable community-based support could be.
To build greater capacity for this work, Dr. Stella began training clinicians within the clinic. She taught practical ways to understand the mind–body connection and supported clinicians in caring for families whose mental and physical health overlap.
The more she taught, the more she was sought out. Clinicians from mental health, medical, school-based, and allied health settings began turning to her for guidance, frameworks, and practical tools.
The Learning Hub grew naturally from this evolution. It was created to share this knowledge more widely and to offer clinicians a place to strengthen their confidence and grow their understanding of mind–body care.
At its heart, the Learning Hub reflects Dr. Stella’s ongoing mission: extend pediatric health psychology beyond hospital walls and empower the professionals that do this important work.
